Passports and Visas

Dear passengers, we remind you to check the validity of your passport and availability of visa (in case of flying to countries requiring it) before the flight. The relevant information is provided in this section. However, please note that it is relevant as of August 1, 2019.

We strongly recommend that you also contact the competent authorities for the necessary information on this issue.

Passport validity period:

Azerbaijan – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Armenia – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Belarus – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Georgia – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Kazakhstan – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Kyrgyzstan – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Moldova – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Russia – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Tajikistan – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Turkmenistan – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Uzbekistan – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.
Ukraine – at least 6 months after the arrival in Sri Lanka.

Only for Russian citizens who wish to visit Sri Lanka for tourism for a period of up to 30 days, but with a passport valid for less than 6 months – in case of an individual application to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Moscow you will receive a special visa with the signature of the consul for a single entry and a 30-day stay in the country.

Kyrgyzstan – at least 3 months after they leave Montenegro.
Moldova – at least 3 months after they leave Montenegro.
Russia – at the moment of arrival in Montenegro.

Azerbaijan – 90 days after the arrival in Turkey.
Armenia – 150 days after the arrival in Turkey.
Belarus – 90 days after the arrival in Turkey.

Kazakhstan – 90 days after the arrival in Turkey.
Kyrgyzstan – 150 days after the arrival in Turkey.
Moldova – 150 days after the arrival in Turkey.
Russia – 120 days after the arrival in Turkey.
Tajikistan – 90 days after the arrival in Turkey.

Passengers, whose passports have validity periods less than the ones set for their countries but more than 61 day after the arrival, can enter Turkey after they pay the fine imposed by the frontier service of the Republic of Turkey during the passport control in Turkish airports.

Passengers who refuse to pay the fine will be deported.

Visa on arrival:

Armenia – for up to 30 days. The citizens of Armenia can also apply for and receive their E-visas online in advance.

Visa not required:

Azerbaijan – for up to 30 days.
Belarus – for up to 30 days.
Georgia – for up to 90 days.
Kazakhstan – for up to 30 days.

To obtain a visa on arrival the following conditions should be observed:

  • Passport expiration at least 30 days after the arrival in Thailand.
  • A return-ticket to leave Thailand not later than in 15 days after the arrival.
  • 1 photo.
  • One blank page.

Passengers who are citizens of countries for which a visa is required can be issued an E-visa or apply for a passport visa to the consular agency.

Incase an E-Visa is used the passenger must have this document printed and be able to present it during the flight registration.

For Russian and Ukrainian citizens with general passports there is an option to receive a permission to enter Mexico at https://www.inm.gob.mx /sae/publico/en/solicitud.html for up to 180 days. The passengers should have this permission printed and present it during the check-in.

Entry to Mexico for those who have visas of Canada, Japan, USA, Great Britain or Schengen area is possible for up to 180 days.

Children.

Children less than 16 years old identified in their parents' passports can travel without their own passport accompanied by their parents. If there is no child’s photo in the passport of the parents these passengers should present the certificate of birth.

Passport validity period:

Azerbaijan – should be valid at the date of entry to Cuba.
Armenia – at least 2 months since the day of arrival to Cuba.
Belarus – should be valid at the date of entry to Cuba.
Georgia – at least 2 months since the day of arrival to Cuba.
Kazakhstan – should be valid at the date of entry to Cuba.
Kyrgyzstan – at least 2 months since the day of arrival to Cuba.
Moldova – at least 2 months since the day of arrival to Cuba.
Russia – should be valid at the date of entry to Cuba.
Tajikistan – at least 2 months since the day of arrival to Cuba.

Children.

Children under 14 years of age can be registered in the passport of their parents.

Children older than 14 should have their own passport.

Important!

Passengers whose place of birth according to their passports is Cuba should ask for the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba for the permission to enter and exit Cuba. This is due to the fact that all children born in Cuba are automatically granted the citizenship of the Republic of Cuba and are considered to be citizens of Cuba by the country’s authorities.

Entry to Cyprus is also possible with double-entry or multiple-entry C- or D-type visas of Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania or the Schengen Area (this rule is not applicable for citizens of Azerbaijan and Turkey).

Pro – Visa.

Passengers travelling with a Pro-Visa must have it printed and present while flight check-in.

Visa required:

Visas to enter India are required for the citizens of all the countries listed above. There are three types of visas:

  • Visa pasted on passport.
  • Electronic Travel Authorization. This document should be printed prior to the flight check-in. Passengers should have at least two blank pages in their passports.
  • E-Visa is put on a passport by a frontier guard during the passport control in India. This document entitles the passenger to reenter India during the 60 days following the first entry. The expiry date of this visa is indicated in the Visa Expiry Date field.

Visa Application Form – this document does not grant the passenger the right of entry to India.

Visa types:

Passenger arriving in India by charter are allowed to enter only with T (tourist) and B (Business) visa types.

All passengers arriving in India by charter must have a tourist voucher, a hotel booking and a confirmed ticket back.

Azerbaijan – should cover the period of stay in the Dominican Republic.
Armenia – should cover the period of stay in the Dominican Republic.
Belarus – should cover the period of stay in the Dominican Republic.

Entry into the Dominican Republic for the purpose Tourism is also possible with valid visas of Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland, Romania, USA, Great Britain and the Schengen Area for up to 90 days.
